Back in 1993, for my birthday, I wanted to meet the man who I knew as the creator of my favorite superheroes and who’s voice I became familiar with through Stan’s Soapbox. My folks took my brother and I to Sacramento for the convention and I remember feeling like I saw a myth come to life when he arrived. Happy and enthusiastic, he was every bit the showman in person that you see on screen. When it was my time to meet him, I shook his hand and told him, “It’s an honor to meet you.” He smiled back at me in that Stan-way and said, “It’s an honor to be met.” ☺
