Day 20 is Cobra’s commanders of the Crimson Guards, Tomax and Xamot! I wasn’t sure if I was gonna separate them and draw Tomax one day, then Xamot on another. Ultimately, because they are always together, I decided I needed to keep them on the same drawing.

I thought it would be fun to do two half faces as they are mirrors of each other – except for the scar on the right side of Xamot’s face. I made sure to keep him on the right so his scar would be visible. I knew there would be a lot on the page already with both faces on this, so I tried to simplify the rendering. I did just a few marks and fade lines. I did do two tones of lighting on their faces, but still wanted to infer the strong lighting by keeping the front of their faces and the top of their hair mostly in white.
