Here’s a comic book page advertisement I made for PROPHET VOL. 1.

This ad was a tad tricky in that so many artists have worked on the issues that comprise this volume. I wanted all the various artists and their different takes on John Prophet represented in this ad. So I used Marian Churchland’s big depiction of Prophet from the cover of #21 as the main “eye-anchor”image, then used overlapping inset images drawn by Brandon Graham, Simon Roy, Farel Dalrymple, and Giannis Milonogiannis.

Design-wise, I tried to keep the design elements in the red-orange color scheme. I played with the lighting a bit to draw the reader’s attention to Prophet’s face, and push the rest of the main figure behind the inset images. I used the cascading type and giant eye symbol that is used throughout the series. Lastly, I made certain to work in the ad requirements of the tagline, quote from The Comics Journal, and sales solicitation information.
